Adventure Crosses Danger

Chapter 1
One long night

Two men running down a hill side away from the forest, they ran urgently, to a decrepit cabin. The first man had light brown hair with a athletic body, sweat running down his brooding face, is Drake DeNaro. The second man had ink black shoulder length hair and muscular frame, having a hard time breathing through his big grin as he sprinted, is Jaco Twizz.
"Hurry! yelled Drake "Curse you, Jaco, you bastard! stop laughing it, wasn't funny!!"
between panting breaths Jaco replied "How can you not!? Those idiots deserved it but when you fell on your arse! It took away your physique of being a 'powerful sorcerer'!"
Jaco almost fell over at the memory on a new round of laughter.
" I swear if you don't stop laughing, I'll kill you!" Drake threatened
Jaco made a mocking ominous tone "Step away if your life means anything to you- and you fall!"

They reached the cabin; it was dirty and full of dishes, unwashed, along the floor and shabby table.
"That was fun!" Jaco panted as he moved the towers of plates off the table to the cluttered shelves.
Drake came over to Jaco and punched him in the face. "That's for laughing." he growled "Oh yes, it was fun having to dodge men that had heavy artillery to fore fill our death wishes and us with nothing but our brains, that could of been shot out at any moment, yet...." His voice took on a lighter tone with a growing smile playing around the corners of his mouth "we got it."
Jaco grinned mischievously through his swelling cheek as Drake reached deep into his pocket to pull out a small silver cross; placing it down on the table.
It was Landzarr's Cross from the 19th century; Queen Landzarr was to be beheaded for a crime, the king, accused her of; at her last attempt to save her life she went to a gypsy to explain her innocence. The gypsy asked for her necklace of the cross. Cursing it, that as long as the queen wore it that who ever tried to harm her would be the ones to be harmed, becoming virtually immortal.
Drake sat down in a wicker chair next to Jaco. He sighed "What do we do now?" staring at the cross.

Time to Waste Chapter 1 pg 2

*Please let me know if you really want to read more by commenting.*

Vivien walked into the kitchen where her mother had made spaghetti and meatballs with corn, a plate already prepared on the table.
"hey mom, have a good day?"
her mother looked up from her food swallowing in answer  "Yes but its sad what has happened today." Vivien and her mother are always busy with work and schedule with her mother working nights and extra long shifts to help pay the bills. Her father left them when she was seven and hasn't helped them at all for the past years. Her mother never talked about him.
Vivien looked down as she took her seat. "Yeah, I was going to hang out with my friends but with what happened..." she trailed off
"Your friend Julie must be devastated." her mother whispered
"What do you mean?"
Vivien's mother looked suddenly shy "I thought you had heard...it was Julie's little sister that was killed this morning."
It felt like a land side had dropped on Vivien's head. No, she was only fifteen!

Time to Waste Chapter 1

*I've decided to do this one page at a time. For you don't want to read a very long entry in one sitting so I've broken it down. Enjoy!*

A chilly soggy afternoon Vivian Marsden walked home from her bus stop. It had been a frightening day at school. She looked back at the memory.
Her friend Jessica Thann and Julie Haze were walking down the tiled halls of Evergreen High School giggling and talking of nonsense. It had been awhile since Vivian had hung out with them since of all her school work and job as a waitress at Olive Garden.
’Hey Jess! Julie!” she shouted
The chattering stopped as they looked over at her, a look of unease crossed their faces as she approached them.
“hey, Vivian’ Muttered Julie and she twirled with her auburn shoulder length hair
“Hi” added Jessica looking down at her scuffed up tennis shoes
Strained smiles appeared to greet her.
“What are you up to?” Vivian inquired smiling warmly not noticing of the awkward greeting.
“Um, nothing really.”Jessica replied
“Talking about a test and stuff.” Julie sighed
“Are you guys busy? I’m free for once, let’s hang out!” Vivian gushed
Jessica and Julie looked at each other with stone grave faces.
“Didn’t you hear about the murder?” Julie whispered
Vivian’s eyes widened with surprise. “When did it happen?”
“Just this morning.” Jessica said
“What!?” she gasped
“Yeah we’re all freaked out.” Jessica nodded

Vivian shook her head as she brought herself back to the present climbing her cement stairs leading to the front door. Sadly by the end of school an announcement that the police was on high alert and were to reside in our homes at this time, so she couldn’t hang out with her friends; she dropped her heavy fraying bag, face planting into her soft bed and began to dream.

Gun shots rang out.
Fear griped Vivian witnessing a gray van screeching as it can around the corner headed for her!
She dived for the sidewalk scrapping her face on the cold hard surface
The van drove off down the street; Vivian looked up to find a body laying not ten feet from her.
She yelled a name but didn’t understand the name that escaped her lips.
She quickly made it to the person side, it was a boy, she gently leaden him to the side to reveal his face but the shadows of approaching night made it impossible to see his facial features.
Unexpectedly hands wrapped around her and felt the sting of the lacerating knife slitting open her throat.

“Vivian! You want to wake up to eat dinner?!” Vivian heard her mother shout through the bedroom door as she awoke sitting up, out of breath, prying at her neck. Nothing, just a dream.
